Continuing from where I left off after Iron Maiden on Tuesday, Wednesday brought a leisurely day. In the morning I attended a Brown Forman workshop for work (1st Choice) where I learnt/tasted a few whiskey's, rum's and vodka's for educational purposes wink It's a little bit odd sipping whisky at 9am, but nevertheless, it was a great course!

I was feeling shitty come Wednesday night with a combination of a massive headache, probably compounded from the noise of Iron Maiden the previous night and my shitty diet of late, and just a withdrawn mood. I had no intentions of drinking, and managed not too even though Benji, Kyle and Yeatsie got quite merry. We went to the Dockside Comedy Club for Kyle's 20th. The comedians were hit and miss, but it was still a pretty good show.

Danman recon'd Benji and myself at around 11 and we decided to head home... via the shack. None of us had visited it since it was broken into a few months back, so we weren't sure what to expect. There's almost a road layed to it's front door, and we have been 'honoured' with our own garden. Instead of the road running straight past the shack, it's on a T intersection with one of the garden islands on the opposite side! The shack was still standing, and it's in great condition despite the rain. The gaping hole in the wall has resulted in a tonne of spiders and random crawlies making it home though, so a clean up job is due in the coming weeks. All in all, we were pretty surprised, but happy that the shack will live on for another day!

Thursday brought the start of my working weekend. It also marked my first shift as manager at Brodies. After nearly 5 years I got the promotion to casual manager, which fits in pretty good with uni and 1st Choice (well at the moment). 13.5 hours is a long day, and managing is a different experience then what'd you expect. Everything's pretty cruisy in the middle, it's the start and finish of the shift that's hectic with banking and what not.

Friday morning brought more work at 1st Choice, then Friday afternoon brought Brodies work again... fast forward to Saturday morning and I was working at Brodies again, and then fast forward to just a few hours before this post and I was working at 1st Choice! I don't mind the hectic days, it's great money for my age/situation and I still manage to score a few days off here and there. Total count though, 36.5 hours of work in 72 hours, impressive when 21 of the remaining hours is spent sleeping smile

Tonight I chilled at home, watching the remainder of How I Met Your Mother. I really like it to be honest, and makes me reflect on bits and pieces of my life. It's funny how I say life when I'm still only 19 years young, it's not like anything now is particularly defining of the future. Well, I hope it's not like that, there's just a few things that just aren't 'right' now and I hope a bit of time will work it's magic smile

A few days late, but on Tuesday night I headed to Iron Maiden with my brother, Mudos and Dan from work. I was pretty excited because well, it was Iron Maiden happy We rocked up at about 7.30 and shuffled into the merch line for some shirts. Eventually a band started, so Dan left to go watch Laura Harris. I really wanted to see her as she's pretty hot, the daughter of Steve Harris (Iron Maiden's bassist) and I was just generally more interested in her then the other support (Behind Crimson Eyes). I decided I'd stay in line though, grab myself and my brother a shirt. By the time we got our merch, dropped it in the car and headed back inside, Laura had finished!

I was a bit annoyed, but realised their was no point to leaving the mosh now... oh, that's right, I had managed to score the best tickets in the house for the gig, Gold GA! The show pretty much sold out within the day so I was pretty stoked to get those tickets! Behind Crimson Eyes were terrible, they slaughtered Motorhead with their cover of Ace of Spades and their music was just generally terrible. I give them some props for managing to ignore the mass of people continually booing and giving them the finger though, no matter how funny and deserving it was tongue

The lights finally went down and Maiden's set started with a blast with Aces High. It was seriously the best concert I've ever been too. There was fireworks, flames, flares, smoke machines, a mechanical Eddie and just an awesome stage presence. Bruce, no matter the age, is incredibly fit and showed it by jumping and dancing around the stage. His voice was amazing, although towards the end of the set it seems the mix got a little unbalanced with a bit too much rhythm guitar and not enough vocals. The entire time I was no more then 5 from the front of Steve Harris and Janick Gers. They were amazing musicians firstly and then entertainers. Swinging their guitars around, dancing, acting and just playing along with the crowd!

Top notch show, really. I have plenty of photos and posted them all to here. Here's one of my favourite ones smile

That's about it for now. I'll post again soon smile

That's how long it's been since I wrote this article where I wrote about redesigning this website. I finally did it today, somewhat to cure boredom, moreso because I finally grew sick of that design to the point where it had to go. This is the first design that uses all my own images, taken with my phone, instead of scouring stock image sites smile

The main image is a photo of Fingal Beach from my recent coast adventure which has been ran through a Photoshop filter. The music page uses an image I took during the Black Crusade tour of Machine Head. It's a fantastic photo, my favourite from the night, but due to the phone quality, I filtered it in Photoshop again to make it more bearable. Finally, viewing individual articles results in a picture of our shack during it's construction, unedited.

Regardless, enjoy the new design smile
